Making Love in the Psych Ward: Chumming Back Really Soon...

Hinsley Ford is a gifted writer who was raised in Massachusetts, and educated at Mount Holyoke College (B.A.) and Harvard University (M.Ed.). While Hinsley was devoted to teaching junior high and high school English, the mechanics of mental and physical illness made such work untenable. So, needing to apply her grey matter elsewhere, she launched Making Love in the Psych Ward, a bold offering for those who struggle with mental illness, most in silence. Hinsley used to be silent, too, but then got sick of it. Why is shame still attached to a disease? Why is it OK to talk about being tired from African Tsetse Fly Disease, but not depression? It's all a bunch of bullcrap. Expect her tragic tales to be delivered with candor, wit and self-deprecation. For example, one evening dizzy with mania, Heather bit Daryl Hall’s slouchy 80’s boot while in the lobby of a ritzy hotel. Yes, his foot was inside the boot. Bodyguards tackled me (I mean her), and threw her asunder. She is still hurt.
